Stone Mountain Chorus Quartets

Stone Mountain Chorus is proud to have the following quartets associated with our chorus.  We endorse all of them as excellent singers and entertainers, suitable for any occasion...

Up Front

Stone Mountain Chorus’ own “Up Front” Quartet is known for their all around talent of entertainment with comedy, gospel and western songs along with the old favorites you love to hear. You can contact them at upfront@stonemountainchorus.org.

The singers in this quartet are:

Baritone: Mike Walsh
Mike is a 38 year barbershopper. During that time Mike was a member of Stone Mountain Chapter quartets “Landmark IV” and “River City Ramblers”. An Army veteran and retired computer technology professional, Mike now has time to enjoy his singing hobby in barbershop chorus and quartet settings as well as church choir and gospel quartets.

Bass: Scott Patzer
Scott is the bass singer with Up Front. He has 30+ years of chorus and instrument performances with local and church musical organizations in Georgia and upstate NY. Scott and his wife, Michelle, live in Snellville, GA with their children Zachary and Kazia.

Lead: Alan Smart
Our always smiling lead is Alan Smart. He is a published personal chef in the Atlanta area. Alan started singing with the society in 1980 and was immortalized on the silver screen when he sang with the "Ain't Misbehavin'" barbershop quartet for the 2004 movie 'Bobby Jones-Stroke of Genius' Alan's motto: "Never trust a skinny chef!"

Tenor: Dennis Walker

Dennis is the newest member of Up Front and has been a member of the Stone Mountain chorus for 8 years. Music and singing has always been a part of his life and was raised in a musically talented family. He has memories of his mother telling him that when he was just two years old he pulled himself up in his crib and hummed the notes of the Star Spangled Banner when the television started broadcasting in the morning. Dennis is also an accomplished trumpet and euphonium player and currently plays euphonium in the Gwinnett Community Band. He also sings with his church choir. Dennis is an Army Veteran and has been a school bus driver for Gwinnett County since 2002.

Four Bass Hit

This quartet was so-named because the original members all started out singing the bass part in the four-part harmony of Barbershop Quartetting. The original members were Bruce Adams (tenor), Dave Naddor (lead), Robert Siegel (baritone), and David Southern (bass). Different configurations of the Quartet have included Lynn Trapp singing lead, Carl Gardei singing bass and Dennis Walker singing tenor. (Standard Barbershop joke: How many are in your quartet?)

Current members are Bryan Hettic (tenor), Rontray Williams (lead), Robert Siegel (baritone), and Dave Naddor (bass). Their repertoire includes standard Barbershop favorites as well as other popular songs in the Barbershop style.
